5 Things You Don’t Need Permission From Your Boss

You don’t need permission from your boss:

  • to learn a new technology or skill which you think will help you get better at doing your work
  • to test an idea and see if it does or does not work
  • to schedule your work day according to how you imagine it should turn out
  • to help a co-worker or a client solve their problem
  • to share the things you know to someone who you think needs them

  1. Excellent ideas and you are right that we can do a lot without permission.

A few years ago, one of my then managers introduced me the concept of Permission model vs. Forgiveness model. Ever since, I do work on new stuff without asking permission and if I fail or asked why I’m doing it, I seek forgiveness πŸ™‚

Nice post yet again and keep throwing these ideas.
