‘Rome wasn’t built in a day‘ and, surely, your dream projects will be the same, if what you’re working on is something very precious to you, something you want to create and share to the world, something you want to leave behind and be remembered by. Wanting to be the best software tester in the world? You won’t be after a day’s worth of work. Aspiring to be someone well-respected in your industry? You’ll definitely toil for some time. Eager to be a master at something interesting? You won’t be by doing it only for a few hours. Wishing to be part of a huge and awesome project? You need to show that you have what it takes first.
So take your time. Pull each day out of the bag and work as hard and as smart as you can. Experiment. Learn what works and what doesn’t. Make mistakes then take notes of the lessons you find. Have fun while you’re at it and savor the moments of achievement when they come. Help people as well while you go along your way. Give enough time for rest and play to end the day, then prepare to do everything again and more the next.
It takes years of persistence to arrive at places where we dream to be.
